Reclaim the Night

Shoalhaven City Council in partnership with Shoalhaven Women’s Health and International Women’s Day Shoalhaven are inviting you to take part in the Shoalhaven Reclaim the Night march.

Reclaim the Night involves demonstration marches advocating for women to move throughout public space at night safety and to stop violence against women.

Postponed to March 4 2022

“87 percent of women have experienced at least one instance of verbal or physical street harassment. Reclaim the Night marches are an opportunity for women to come together in a show of strength and unity to claim the right to walk without fear at night.”

The march will occur during the 16 days of activism which is an annual international campaign that kicks off on Thursday 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and runs until 10 December.

The 16 Days of activism is a call for global action to increase awareness, galvanize advocacy efforts, and share knowledge and innovations to advocate for the prevention and elimination of violence against women and girls.
